Married May 15, 1859, in Illinois, Phoebe, daughter of E. and Hannah Latman [maybe Tatman], natives of Kentucky; children's names--William H. (deceased), Effie, Martha A., James C., William T. (deceased), Imri and Nannie, twins (deceased), Sally and Joseph. Mr. Frakes has devoted his life to teaching, being deeply interested in universal education and culture; served for a time as county Surveyor. Politically, is a Democrat. His father moved to Missouri, when seventy-five years of age, and there died; his mother died in Kentucky.
