Dorothy Pearl Gann Wilson, age 80, of Northport, died Jan. 15, 2011, at Glen Haven Nursing Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Dan Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Woodrow Wilson; parents, Ruby Touchstone Sanders and Alvin E. Gann; brothers, Milton Gann, Billy Gann, and Donald Ray Gann; and sister, Charlene Harris.
Survivors include her daughter, Rita Wilson Hyche of Tuscaloosa; sons, James Wilson (Deborah) and John Wilson (Debbie), both of Northport; grandchildren, Amy Colburn Noland (Jason), Jill Colburn, Tammy Wilson Carnes (Brian), Connie Wilson Patterson (William), Nathan Wilson (Katie), and Matthew Powell, all of Northport; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, A. E. Gann (Bertie Lou) and Bobby Gann (Emma), both of Northport; sister, Wanda Vanzant of Parkville, Md.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Gann, Billy Eugene Gann, Jeff Gann, William Patterson, Nathan Wilson, and Stephen Wright.
Honorary pallbearers are employees of Glen Haven Nursing Home, Alacare, and members of Harvest Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alacare Hospice or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
