"Mrs. Poletti, Langleyville, Dies at Age 67"

Catherina Poletti, 67, of Langleyville died at 9:45 p.m. Monday, July 22, 1957, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was admitted to the hospital Saturday morning. She had been in ill health for the last six months.

Mrs. Poletti was born November 13, 1889 in Gualdo Tadino, Italy, the daughter of Waldo and Rosa (Biagioli) Picchi. She immigrated to the United States in 1912. That same year, she married Giuseppe "Joseph" Poletti in Springfield. They moved to Langleyville from Tuxhorn 34 years ago. Mrs. Poletti was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. William (Lena) Kastelic, Mrs. Lawrence (Josephine) Scanavino, Mrs. William (Ida) McMahan, all of Kincaid, and Mrs. Harold (Nana) Wyatt of Langleyville; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rose Sitki; and one son, Primo Poletti.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 1957, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Joseph O'Dwyer will officiate, with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Connolly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Friends may call in the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 1957, where Father O'Dwyer will recite the Rosary at 8.
