Funeral For Filling Station Owner Held on Wednesday
Albino Paso, 46, of Kincaid died suddenly at 11:50 a.m. Monday, December 25, 1950, at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital. Mr. Paso became ill, and his wife called a physician. She was told to bring him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Mr. Paso was born April 8, 1904 in Numa, Iowa, the son of Nicola Sr. and Giovanna (Corso) Paso. He married Lena Poletti on November 19, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri. He worked at the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company from 1940 to 1950. Earlier this year, he opened the Phillips 66 Filling Station in Kincaid. Mr. Paso was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Kincaid.
Surviving are his wife, Lena; one daughter, Rosemary Paso of Kincaid; two step-sons, William Townsley and John Townsley, both of Kincaid; one sister, Mrs. Richard (Martha) Perozzo of Lake Forest; three brothers, Victor (wife, Marguerite) Paso of Lima, Peru, Nicola Jr. (wife, Rose) Paso of Taylorville, and Bruno (wife, Louise) Paso of Detroit, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Military services were held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 1950, at Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid. Father A. J. Harte officiated, with burial following in Oak Hill Cemetery. Graveside rites were conducted by the Andy Corpin Post of the American Legion. It was one of the biggest funerals ever held in Kincaid.
The beautiful and profuse floral offerings were carried by Carmella Stimac, Delores Cattenari, Jennie Ariana, Lucille Bassana, Laura Cowgill, Yvonne Corso, Greta Guerinne, Josephine McKinney, Margaret Collebrusco, Margaret Grauer, Gertrude Beitel, Rena Marcogliese, Eleanor Conrath, Vera Cargnino, Jennie Melchiorri, and Rena Corredato.
Pallbearers were Dominic Cumerlato, Joe Vecchie, Joe Delpos, Louis Stafferoni, Louis Garidini, and Leo Marsango.
