Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at West Side Cemetery for J. Doyle Minor, 71, of 435 Philippine Street, who died Tuesday in a Bakersfield hospital. He was born Feb. 8, 1913 in Centralia, Okla, and had lived on the West Side for over 28 years. He was a retired heavy duty mechanic for J.G. Boswell Company. He was also an amateur bowler. Survivors include his wife, Velma of Taft; son and daughter in law Jim and Pat Minor of Taft; daughter and son in law Doylene and Roy Doughty, Ridgecrest; daughter and son in law Janis and Steve Stevens, Beaumont, Calif., daughter Sharon Noel of Grainfield, Tex., two brothers, Clinton Minor, Tulare, and Elmo Minor of Stockton; 12 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Rev. Sam White of the Cuyama Assembly of God Church will officiate. Taft Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to the Alzheimer's Disease Fund, 2505 Planz Road, Bakersfield.
