She was born in Cieloszka, Poland on October 15, 1913, daughter of Roch and Balbina Lazarczyk Czerwinski. She moved to Housatonic on June 3, 1947, and worked for the former Great Barrington Manufacturing Company.
She was a communicant of Blessed Teresa Church and the former All Saints Church, and a member of its Rosary Sodality, she also served as its secretary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, flowers, and canning.
Her husband, Antoni Romankiewicz, whom she married on July 28, 1936 in Turosl, Poland, died August 10, 1989.
Mrs Romankiewicz leaves one daughter, Wladyslawa "Mickey" Kozikowski and her husband Andrzes, of South Windsor, Connecticut; one sister, Wladyslawa Nietupska, of Hartford, Connecticut; three grandchildren Agatka Cavar and her husband Andrew, Grzecorz Kozikowski, and Marek Kozikowski and his wife Kristen; four great-grandchildren, Ashley, Drew, and Alex Cavar, and Samantha Kozikowski; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Teresa Church of the Corpus Christi Parish with the Reverend William P. Murphy pastor officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 25, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South Street, Great Barrington.
