Doris Chase Brandt died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday November 27, 2011. Her family and friends will remember her as a gracious lady and will miss her ready smile and welcoming positive manner.

A memorial service will be held at 2p.m. on Sunday December 4, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church 16 Hitt Street, Columbia, Mo. Doris will be laid to rest in Crest Hven Memorial Park, Clifton N.J.

Doris Ruth Chase was born August 10, 1917 to Margaret and George Washington Chase in Jersey City N.J. she was a graduate OF Pratt institute and worked in the fashion industry in New York City prior to her marriage to Frederick W. Brandt Jr. on February 28, 1942. While living in New Jersey, Doris and Fred were members of the New Milford Presbyterian Church, where Doris was a member of the Women's Service League. She was a 25 year member of the New Milford Women's Club and the PTA.

She continued her affiliation with the general federated Women's Club by joining GFWC Tuesday Club after her move to Columbia, Mo. in 2001. She volunteered at the Columbia Public Library and the Wardrobe. She was a member of the Elosa Haseman Circle of the International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Columbia and Circle Three.

But whether in her home state of N.J. or here in Mo. , her favorite past time was playing bridge with 'The Girls" and her neighbors.

Doris was predeceased by her parents, and her husband after 53 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters, Lois Wagner of Williamsburg VA. and Janet Brandt of Columbia Mo. by her granddaughter, Susan Trentham and husband David of Flower Mound TX. and by her greatgrandson, Drew Trentham.
