Casey Akins

Casey Akins, 55, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 in Pensacola, FL.
He was born and raised in Dallas, TX, relocated by the US Navy to Pensacola, FL where he met is wife of now 26 years, Bobbi Akins, while he was working at the photo school on NAS Pensacola. After 21 years of service, Casey retired from the Navy. During that time, he served two tours as a photographer for the Blue Angels and was stationed overseas in Iceland and Italy. On any Sunday you would find him grilling out, watching a Dallas Cowboys game, and enjoying time with his family. He will be greatly missed and remembered for making everyone laugh and loving them like family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jack Akins.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bobbi Akins; son, Kelly Akins and daughter, Sandra Akins; his Dallas, TX family, mother, Charmian Akins; brother, Kelly Akins and wife Tina; sisters, Allison Thorne and Heidi Mason and husband, Mark; nieces, Hilary and Gillian; and nephew, Wyatt.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 6PM until 8PM at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the NAS Pensacola Naval Aviation Museum, a place of great memories for Casey and his family.
