Carl was born June 8, 1924. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946, and was active in the air offensive against Japan. Carl went on to manage the Dairy Queen in Weatherford with his wife for over 25 years. He went to meet his wife of 47 years, Rena Mae Holmes; and one grandson, Curtis Reeder, at heaven's gate.
Survivors: Sons, Bill Holmes and partner, Gene, and Tommy Holmes and wife, Cheryl; daughters, Suzanne Holmes, Brenda Pearson and husband, Terry, and Deborah Reeder; brothers, James Holmes and his wife, and Glen Holmes and his wife; sisters, Nadine Dickenson and Ann Velasquez; grandchildren, Bill Jr., Bo and Joseph Holmes, Regan and Ryan Smith, and Lori Bowen; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime caregiver, Betty Desmond.
