A resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 79 and a native of Alexandria. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church from 12:30 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Saturday, celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Steffes. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by two daughters, Melissa M. Williams, Opelousas, and Kim H. Wright, Baton Rouge; and two granddaughters, Sarah and Jessica Wright, both of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas N. Hobgood; three sisters, Youline Bijou Normand, Doris Bijou LoCicero and Eunice Bijou Lacombe; and two brothers, Fred J. and Anthony Bijou. She was a member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church.
