Helen L. Heagy, 82, of Taylor Road died at 11:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.
A homemaker, Mrs. Heagy was a member of First Christian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and was an active member of the quilting group. She also was an avid gardener.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Four Seasons Chapel with the Rev. Evelyn Brown officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Myers Funeral Service, Reed & Jewell Chapel on 25th Street, and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at Four Seasons Chapel. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Hospice of Bartholomew County.
Born in Columbus April 20, 1921, Mrs. Heagy was the daughter of Gust and Laura Trisler Zaharako. She married Roy W. Heagy April 26, 1941, at Shelbyville.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet R. Kehr of Greenfield; and a granddaughter, Abigail J. Warner-Runk of Bremerton,Wash.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Nov. 12, 1995; a daughter, Peggy H. Warner; a granddaughter, Amanda V. Warner; brothers, George, Manuel and Charlie Zaharako; and a sister, Mary Rogers.
