Canadian religious and media figure. A native of Trois-Rivières, he was ordained priest on September 3, 1973. All his life, he practiced his ministry in the social communications field. In 1971, he began his carrer on TV as the host of “Le Jour du Seigneur,” the televised mass on the Radio-Canada network. His other shows included 2000 ans après Jésus Christ and En toute amitié, on the TVA network and Parole et Vie the Canal Vox channel. He was also present on radio. From 1973 to 1981, he served as director of the Diocesan Office of social communications,in the diocese of Trois-Rivières. From 1981 to 1991, he was responsible for the sector Edu/Médias (Education of the faith by the media) within the Office of Catechesis of Québec. He was director of the “Spiritualités” collection, with the Éditions Logiques, of Montréal. He published several volumes of which: “Au rythme de la vie,” “Réflexions à saveur d'Evangile,” “En toute amitié... quelques brins d'Evangile,” “Au fil des jours (Atteindre l'espérance),” “Le goût de croire.” From 1988 to 1994, he served as pastor of the Notre-Dame-de-la-Présentation parish in Shawinigan-Sud, and since 1994, he has undertaken the same pastoral charge, this time in Trois-Rivières, for the Saint-Jean-Baptiste-de-La-Salle parish. In 1987, he won the annual trophy of the Office of the Social Communications. He was an honorary president of the international co-operation organization “Terre sans frontières.” He died accidentally when his car plunged into the Lac-à-la-Croix water body, near Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc. His autopsy revealed that he suffered, without his knowledge, of a growing brain tumour. More than 3 000 people were present at the time of his funeral held in the basilica Notre-Dame-du-Cap and it was Cardinal Turcotte, archbishop of Montréal, who pronounced his eulogy.
