Memorial Mass with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 15, 2006 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive with Father Joseph Ponessa officiating. Interment will be in the Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Dale was born on March 23, 1927 in Great Falls, Montana, the youngest child of Glenn M. and Nellie May (Deegan) Cox. He attended public school in Shelby, Montana, graduating from high school in 1945. Upon graduation he went on active duty with the United States Navy, serving as a naval corpsman. Upon discharge from the Navy, he attended the University of Montana, Washington University and St. Louis University, both in St. Louis, Missouri. Dale obtained a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Montana in 1952. On December 27, 1949 he and Jackline Jewell married. After graduation from law school, Dale and Jackline spent most of their adult life in eastern Montana where Dale practiced law in Wibaux and Glendive and served as District Judge for the Seventh Judicial District from June 1987 until July 1998 after which they retired to Ennis and Billings.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glen; sister, Loraine Lane and his son, John Patrick.
Dale is survived by his wife, Jackline of Billings; two sons, Michael Cox and his wife Sheryl of Laurel, Montana and Timothy Cox of Billings; two grandsons, Brandon and John.
