The Comfort and Sweetness of Peace

After the clouds, the sunshine,
after the winter, the spring,
after the shower, the rainbow,
for life is a changeable thing.

After the night, the morning,
bidding all darkness cease,
after life's cares and sorrows,
the comfort and sweetness of peace.

Born 27 December 1869 in Gibson (Township), Manitowoc County, WI; William was the third of six children born to Wilhelm & Henriette (Seeger) Mueller - {William was the only child to Americanize the spelling to Miller.}

On 11 October 1892, William married Alvina C. Richardt; they were both age 22. Born April 1870 in Dodge County, WI; Alvina was the third of eight children born to Fredrich Charles & Albertina J. (Schulz) Richardt.

~~~from Antigo Daily Journal (13 June 1944)~~~
"William F. Miller, 74, livestock dealer, died late yesterday of a heart ailment while moving cattle to pasture on a farm he owned three miles southeast of the city.
"His daughter, Mrs. Henry Kreger, with whom he lived at 930 Superior Street, became concerned about Mr. Miller when he failed to return from work at the farm.
"Investigation about 8 p.m. revealed that his car had not been moved and the body was found soon afterwards in a woodlot pasture on the farm. Although Mr. Miller was aware of his heart trouble, he remained active and had done a considerable amount of farm work this spring in addition to caring for a number of feeder cattle.
"Mr. Miller was born Dec. 27, 1869 in the Town of Gibson, Manitowoc County. He had lived in Antigo since he was 17 year old and in earlier years was in the meat market business. On October 11, 1892, he married Alvina Richardt of Juneau. She died February 1937.
"Surviving besides his daughter, Mrs. Kreger, are two sons, Ervin of Pontiac, Michigan and Edward of Sheboygan, three grandsons, all in the service and four granddaughters. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Cora Schmidt of Manitowoc and a brother, Otto Mueller of Maribel. Funeral arrangements are not complete."
