Audrey was born January 16, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Russell Edwin Batt and Pauline Gardiner Batt, and by her sister, Constance Batt Thomas.
A graduate of Shaw High School in East Cleveland, Audrey was married to the late Lt. Col. (Ret.) William McKay and raised her young family in post-World War II Japan and Germany. She was later employed by Fairfax County.
She is survived by her three children, Marsha Ann McKay of Christiansburg, Virginia; Karen Deborah McKay of Fredericksburg, Virginia; William John McKay and his wife, Christine, of Reston, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; and, 3 great grandchildren.
Interment services will be held on December 3, 2011, 2:00 p.m., at the Fairview Cemetery in Mesopotamia, Ohio, a small township settled by Audrey's forebears two centuries ago.
