Dorothy Barnes Dudley, 83, of Agner Lane, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at her home after a two-month illness.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Sandy Young. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Dudley was born June 11, 1922, in Columbus County to Alexander Barnes and Pauline Pritdgen Barnes. She was retired from Philpott Furniture and was a member of Fairbluff Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Dudley, as well as several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Dudley and wife, Rachel, of Lexington and Ralph Dudley and wife, Ann, of Savannah, Ga.; two daughters, Gayle Chaffin and husband, Howard, of Lexington and Phyllis Shakleford of Denton; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Piedmont Health Care for their services as well as Hospice of Davidson County for their support and loving care for their mother.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the home.
