A Funeral Service celebrating the life of Mr. Ethean Dixon will be held 2:30PM, Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church (USA), with Dr. J.W. Rigsby, Pastor, officiating. Mr. Dixon peacefully passed away December 4, 2011 in Valdosta, GA. A Davisboro, GA native, Mr. Dixon was born to Seabon Dixon, Jr. and Lula Mae Johnson Dixon. He was educated in the Duval County Schools and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. For many years, he served as an Auxiliary Police Officer in Penns Grove, NJ. Mr. Dixon was employed by Chrysler Corp. until retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Erick Dixon; sisters, Lynette, and Willie Pearl Dixon. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Barbara J. Dixon; children, Ms. Kimberly Dixon, Mrs. Leslie Shine (Jehu), Ethean (Zoraida) and David Dixon (Emily); 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Edith Hicks (Deacon Ozzie), Mrs. Willie Mae Pannell (Rev. Jimmie), Ms. Roylene Coleman, and Ms. Shirley Atkins; brother, Seabon Dixon, III; adopted daughter, Ms. Amelia Mumink; a number of other relatives and friends. Mr. Dixon will rest in the mortuary for visitation of friends Friday from 5PM until 8PM and at the church Saturday from 12:30PM until the hour of service. Friends are asked to assemble at the church. Interment will be 11AM, TUESDAY, December 13, 2011, at Jacksonville National Cemetery under the direction of Alphonso West Mortuary, Inc., 4409 Soutel Dr.
