MRS. A.H. BALL IS CALLED BY DEATH
Dora L. Rogers was born in New Sharon, Iowa, on September 23, 1867. She departed this life Friday morning, July 30, at the age of sixty-nine years, ten months, and seven days. She was united in marriage to Addison H. Ball on October 11, 1889. To this union four children were born, one son, Clifford E. Ball of Orland, California, and three daughters, Wilma E. Yost of Inglewood, Lucy A. Anderson of Modesto and Cora B. Walker of Vista.
The family moved to Southern California from Iowa in 1895 and settled near Whittier. Another move made in 1907 to the New Friends settlement at Denair where she lived until 1918 when the family moved to their present home on Capay Rancho, Orland.
Dora L. Ball was a birthright member of the Friends church. She has been active in the service of this church throughout her long life and her services to this local church will be cherished in the memory of the community in the days which are to come.
She is survived by her husband, Addison H. Ball, one son, three daughters, nine grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. Lucy J. Rogers of New Sharon, Iowa, three sisters and one brother and a host of friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two-thirty at the Friends Community church in Capay, interment being in the Masonic cemetery. - Transcribed by M.
