Memorial Services held Friday, December 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Jesse E. Cooley, Jr. Funeral Services Inc., 1830 South Fruit Avenue, Fresno, CA, Pastor B.T. Lewis III, Officiating.

Edwina Collins was born May 4, 1954 in Fresno, California to Ruby J. Henderson and Jesse Collins. She was the fourth of six children. Raised in a Christian home, Edwina accepted Christ at an early age and fully understood the commitment of accepting Him into her life. Our beloved Edwina went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 5, 2011.

Edwina graduated from Edison High School in 1972 and went on to further her education. She had a "Classy" style of dress, she loved to cook, and spend time with her family.

Edwina started her career at Fresno Housing Authority for many years. Later she began to work for Chamber of Commerce, she enjoyed talking to people and making them laugh.

In the year 2009 Edwina moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to be close to her son, Jevell, and her grandchildren. She had "nicknames" for all of them. Edwina's style and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Her parents, Mrs. Ruby J. Henderson and Mr. Jesse Collins preceded her in death, along with siblings Gail Foster-Henderson, Sharon Harris and Nathaniel Collins. She was also preceded by her granddaughter, Jordan Danae Jackson, grandmother, Anna Littlefield, and aunt, Juanita Martin.

She leaves to cherish her memory: son Jevell Jackson (Las Vengas, NV); brother Roger Henderson and sister-in-law Patricia Henderson (North Hills, CA); sisters, Patricia Mays (Fresno, CA), Renee Gibbs (Fresno, CA), Joyce Collins-Smith (Oakland, CA) and Chantele Collins (Fresno, CA); eight grandchildren: Jevell Jackson, Jr., Jalisa Jackson, Aaliyah Garrett, Jeremiah Jackson, J'Veon Jackson, Jaquell Jackson, Jamasha Jackson and Julius Jackson. Also, holding her in their hearts are a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.

Dear Family and Friends:

Don't forget my new address. I just wanted to let everyone know that I've moved. I was called on, then received by my Father. To my precious loved ones, I planned to be a lot longer, but God informed me that my new home was ready and I would move immediately. Now that my new home is finally finished, it is a beautiful sight to see. It is located in an exclusive area, just off the Serene Celestial Shore and sits behind beautiful pearly gates. Of course, the streets are paved with gold and every day is Sabbath. There is sweet serenity everywhere and so much peace, love, joy and happiness here. There is no more pain to bear, struggle, strife, or discontent. We know I could go on and on about my new home, but I have to get fitted for my new wings! Let me give you my new address:

Edwina Collins
166 Hallelujah Way
God's Kingdom, Heaven

P.S. I don't have a phone number yet, but just call on God and ask for me. If you don't have the number, He is listed in the Holy Bible on every page.
