Elizabeth "Betty" Hull was born either the 4th or 11th of August 1776 (Newtown, CT, vital records), the daughter of Eliphalet Hull and his wife, Rebekah Baldwin.

Elizabeth's mother, Rebekah Baldwin Hull, died Sep. 2, 1778 - when Elizabeth was 2 years old - and only 16 days after the birth of Elizabeth's sister, Rebeckah, leaving 6 young daughters under 15 years of age. Baby Rebeckah was cared for by a young mother who had recently lost a newborn child, as noted in "The Foote family: The descendants of Nathaniel Foote," by Nathaniel Goodwin, published in 1849. George and Charity (Stillson) Foote who lived in Newtown lost an infant in 1778 and "Mrs. Foote adopted an orphan child, Rebecca Hull, who was born in Newtown, (Conn.,) August 17, 1778. and, to the close of her own life, as kindly cared for her as for her own children."

Elizabeth's father died in May of 1800. His estate was divided among 5 daughters on 8th June 1801, as recorded in the Danbury district court (as spelled in the record):

Anner, eldest dau. and wife of Allen Shepard;
Abiah, 2nd dau., wife of Samuel A. Judson;
Lydia, 3rd dau. and wife of Alanson Northrop;
Bettey, 4th dau. and wife of David Booth;
Rebeckah Hull, the 5th daughter.
(The 6th daughter was Esther b. 17 Apr 1774. No further information has been found concerning her.)

Elizabeth "Betty" Hull Booth, her husband and children came to Wilkesville Twp. abt. 1822 from Berkshire Co., Massachusetts (possibly the town of Mount Washington).
