Lyman was the son of the late Fredrick and Clara Elnore (Fairchild) Beecher. He graduated from Mt. Kisco, NY schools, attended the University of Vermont and had graduated from the Simmons School of Embalming in Syracuse, NY. Mr. Beecher had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Beecher married Daisy L. Watts on October 3, 1941 in New York City. Mr. Beecher was the owner and operator of the Beecher Funeral Home in Brewster, NY for over 30 years and was active in numerous community activities and organizations.
