Harry Bagan, 89, of Henderson, passed away Dec. 6. 2011. He was born Dec. 3, 1922, in Syracuse, N.Y., and was a 41-year resident of Nevada. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in Jan 1943, participating in World War II. He also served in enemy waters during the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier USS Badoeng Straight (CV-116) between August 1950 and June 1951. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in June 1964 as a staff sergeant and was a retired security guard. He had a passion for prospecting and camping in the desert. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Bagan; daughter, Joanne Karen Bagan of Everett, Wash.; son, Thomas Harry Bagan of Reno; and two grandchildren, Oyan Thomas Bagan and Anahi Paula Bagan, both of Reno. Graveside services will be at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd. in Boulder City.
