Mrs. Melissa Brooks, 79, Woodburn area resident for the past 12 years, died Sunday afternoon in a Woodburn nursing home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at Ringo-Cornwell Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Belle Passi cemetery.

Born at Langell, Ore., November 28, 1879, she moved to New Jersey where she lived for about 27 years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Ryder of Woodburn; a sister, Mrs. Ina Kent of Woodburn; three grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
