The oldest daughter of Truman Catlin Pond (1870-1930) and Caroline Lydia (Simpson) Pond, she graduated at the top of her class from Meredosia High School. She was a housewife, home health care nurse, and belonged to the Arcola Presbyterain Church. She was married to Samuel Starret Coy on 20 April 1919 in Meredosia, Morgan County, Illinois. They had two children, Janice Meredith (Coy) Watson and Allan Kent Coy, both of whom are buried here and 8 grandchildren.
