Congressman's mother Mrs. Anna Gray dies
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna R. Gray, 70, West Frankfort, mother of' Congressman Kenneth J. Gray, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, West Frankfort. The Rev. Robert Gossage, the Rev. Guy Tackett and the Rev. T. H. King will officiate. Burial will be in East Fork Cemetery, east of West Frankfort. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Reedy Funeral Home, West Frankfort. Mrs. Gray, who lived at 1608 E. Main St., died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday at her home. She had been in ill health the last seven months. She was a lifelong resident of the West Frankfort area. Mrs. Gray was born Jan. 6, 1901, in Thompsonville, the daughter of James and Fannie Knight Reed. She was a member of the East Fork Baptist Church, the Women's Missionary Society of the Church, the R. W. I. Club, the Senior Citizens Club, the Garden Club, Home Bureau, the Ladies Auxiliary of the World War I Barracks and the Century Club, all in West Frankfort. She is survived by her husband, Thomas; sons, Ralph of Carbondale, Paul of West Frankfort and Kenneth of West Frankfort and Washington, D. C.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
