Boyertown, Dec. 27 -- David Y. Schaeffer, 69, Englesville farmer, died yesterday afternoon at his home after an illness of several months. He was born a son of the late Nathan and Catherine (Yoder) Schaeffer, and was a native of Oley township. He operated a farm in Colebrookdale for many years and the last 13 years was employed in the service department of the Boyertown Burial Casket Company.
He was a member of Boyertown Nest, 22, Fraternal Order of Orioles; Manatawny Castle, 461, Knights of the Golden Eagle, and a member of St. John's Reformed (Hill) Church.
Beside the widow, Katie (Dotterer) there survive the following children: Mabel, wife of William Focht, Englesville; Ella, wife of Harry Ackerman, Boyertown; William, New Berlinville; Oscan, Boyertown; Minnie, wife of Victor Angstadt, Stony Creek Mills, and Florence, at home; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; one sister, Annie, wife of Casper Greisemer, Manatawny. Two daughters preceded him in death.
Funeral from his home in Englesville on Sunday at 1:30 o'clock, the Rev. Donald M. C. Englert will officiate. Further services in Union Cemetery, Boyertown. Interment in Union Cemetery. Funeral Director Wayland G. Schwenk has charge.
