Ida Frantz Nieman, daughter of Milton C. and Isabel Frantz, was born in Suzerene County, Pennsylvania, May 4, 1875. She departed this life in the Fillmore County Hospital at Geneva, October 22, 1963, at the age of 88 years, 5 months and 18 days.

When a small child, she moved with her parents to St. John's Kas., and later to Nebraska, near Geneva. January 30, 1901, she was united in marriage to Henry W. Nieman. They spent their married life in Nebraska and Kansas. Her husband passed away January 19, 1945. Mrs. Nieman made her home near Geneva until four years ago when she entered the Fairmont Nursing Home due to failing health. She leaves to mourn her passing, two sisters, Mrs. Cora Toren and Miss Rosa Frantz, both of Geneva, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 24, at the Kritner-Farmer Funeral Home in Geneva, with Rev. Robert J. Kasper of Geneva officiating.

Ralph Reemts, accompanied by Mrs. Norva Mossman, sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Nearer My God to Thee." Pallbearers were Wilber Anderson, Claude Kimbrough, Francis Kimbrough, Melvin Ralston, Waldo Schinzel and Art Toren. Interment was in the Geneva Cemetery.
