Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 26, 2002 at the Chapel of Brice W. Herdon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Major and Rev. Grady Garris officiating. Interment followed in Jordan Cemetery near Cottageville.
Mrs. Adams was born in Colleton County, SC, a daughter of the late John Oliver Addison (1891-1969) and Mable Louise (Rhode) Addison (1894-1986). She was the widow of Thomas Monroe Adams.
She was a retired civilian pay supervisor with the Charleston Air Force Base and was a member of the Pink Star Camellia Garden Club. She was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church, where she was a former church pianist.
Surviving are two sons, Wendell Oliver Adams of Walterboro, and Gerald Monore Adams of Spartanburg; two daughters, Marilyn Camburn of Walterboro and Elaine Yates of Summerville; a sister, Ruth Gillam of Orangeburg; two brothers, Carroll Addison of Walterboro and Wallace Addison of Cottageville; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a sister, Alice Walters.
The family received friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Friday, January 25, 2002 at Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home.
