Sophia Beauveau was born 21 Mar 1789 in Cap Francois, St Dominique, West Indies which is now in north Haiti. Her father Peter Beauveau 1756-1802 was a plantation owner and merchant and died during the slave revolt. Her mother Elizabeth Brown Beauveau 1764-1852 escaped with her 5 daughters and returned to her home in Philadelphia where she established a fine boarding house. In 1808 Sophia married John Joseph Borie 1776-1834 and they had 12 children. After her husband's death she lived comfortably at 1215 Walnut St Philadelphia with her children and sisters.
