Josephine Louisa Borie was the youngest child of John Joseph Borie 1776-1834, a French shipping merchant and Sophia Beauveau 1789-1876, a Haitian Plantation owners daughter. While Josephine's father died when she was an infant, she grew up surrounded by the love of her family and Aunties. Josephine never married and maintained a comfortable Society Hill home where she raised her Keating nieces in Philadelphia.
