Eastport – Madonna Cassidy Call, 89, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home. Madonna was born in Eastport on April 25, 1922, daughter of the late John and Jessie (Newman) Cassidy. She graduated from Shead Memorial High School, Class of 1940. Madonna worked for the local telephone company and retired from the Eastport Water company. She was a lifelong resident of Eastport and was a Communicant of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, as well as a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was an advocate of education and completed many acts of kindness throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Horace W. Call; a daughter Claire Arsenault; her sister Lillian; and her brothers William, Howard, John, Edmund, Oliver and Vinton.

Madonna will be fondly remembered and celebrated by her son-in-law Robert Arsenault Sr.; daughter Marie and her husband George Cobbett Jr.; and her son Larry Call. Her spirit burns brightly in her grandsons John and wife Cathy, Robert and wife Shelley, Christopher, Casey, and Jesse; and her granddaughters Madonna and Cathy and husband John. She lovingly will be remembered by her great-grandchildren, Catherine, Emma, Joshua and wife Allison, Jacob and wife Dianna and their children Liam and Annabelle, Jessie and son Elijah, and Michael. Madonna is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, her two dear friends, Cathy Gallagher and Shelley Arsenault who checked on her daily.
