TSUNO, Yoshinori "Yosh" - Feb. 10, 1927 - Dec. 3, 2005 Yoshinori Tsuno passed away peacefully at his home December 3, 2005. He was 78. Yoshinori is survived by his wife of 49 years, Yoko Tsuno; and his sons Rick and his wife Cindi, Gene and his wife Brooke. He is also survived by his brother Katsumi and his wife Miyoko in Japan; his sister Emy and her husband Michael Worozbyt. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicole, Marc and St. John who all loved him dearly. Yoshinori is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Yosh was born Feb. 10, 1927 in Oakland, CA. In 1929, he was taken to Wakayama, Japan to live with his grandparents and to be educated in the traditional Japanese manner. Yosh became a Naval Air Force Cadet in 1943 in the Nara Bunkentai. As World War II ended, he returned to the US. Yosh attended Oakland Technical High School and graduated in 1950. At the beginning of the Korean War, Yosh went to Colorado Springs for basic training. In 1951 he was assigned to Okinawa and served as manager of a cafeteria and in the military police. After an honorable discharge in 1952 Yosh started his gardening business. He began working at the Port of Oakland in 1964 and continued until he retired in 2004. Yosh served in various positions in the East Bay Landscape Gardener's Association. He published the Gardener's Association Newsletter for 15 years. Yosh was involved with the Wakayama Nikkeijin Kai as an officer. Yosh was also a founding member of the East Bay Camera Club. A service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, December 17 at Sunset View Mortuary, Colusa and Fairmount Avenues, El Cerrito. Sunset View Mortuary (510) 525-5111
