E. W. Anderson, who died Jan 28, 1923 in Savannah, has a CSA pension application on line in the GA Archives Virtual vault. He enlisted in 1861 and was a Lt. when the war ended. He served in the Confederate States Navy aboard the "Savannah", Alabama, and the "Owl". His handwritten account of his war service aboard these ships is included as is the page detailing his death. He was wounded and plucked out of the water at one battle.
