Freelove was born in 1741 (we think) in Dutchess County, NY. On March 14, 1774, she married Simeon Losee of Greenwich, CT. The couple had five children: Hiram, Stephen, Elizabeth, Sarah "Sally", and a daughter who apparently died young. In 1790, the family moved to eastern Greenville, NY, where Simeon had bought 500 acres of woodland. There he founded and operated a saw mill.
