SIMS, Joseph Thomas, 77, of Henrico, died December 21, 2011. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Tate; brother Bruce Sims; sister, Hazel Pruden; brother, Stuart Sims; and is survived by his wife of 56 years, Emogene Sims; five children, JoAnne Fowler (Russell), Barry Sims, Toni Engineer (KeKi), Sherry Pierce (Mark) and Becki Sims (Joe); grandchildren, Andy, Leigh Anne, Matthew, Nathan, Sam, Brandon, Ariel, Lauren, Bobby, Alyssa, and Alex; his sisters, Thelma Spivey and Shirley Pruden and brothers; Clyde and James Sims. Mr. Sims was a member of Monument Heights Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, December 26, at Bliley's Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., followed by a gathering of family and friends. Interment private.
