Mary was born on 16 Aug 1858 in Elmira, Chemung Co., New York to John Decker Spencer and Charity Goldsmith. She married Henry Harris on 24 Nov 1875 in Woodbury Co., Iowa. After Henry died on 30 Jul 1900, she married Edgar M. Phillips on 15 July 1923 in Dakota City, Dakota Co., Nebraska. Ed was the son of Robert Phillips and Martha Gates. Ed died on 18 March 1936. Mary died on 25 February 1944, and is buried in the Dakota City Cemetery, Dakota Co., Nebraska. Mary has no headstone is buried across from Amelia Niebuhr.
