Funeral services for Earl Spencer, 70, of 1258 Kaskaskia Ave., Elgin, formerly of Benton, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home in Benton. Burial will be in Brady Cemetery, east of Akin. Friends may call today at the funeral home. Mr. Spencer died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 1976, in St. Joseph's Hospital in Elgin. He was born April 2, 1906, to Edward and Huldi Sanders Spencer. He was an electrician at Holly Electronics in Elgin. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors are his wife, the former Helen Hall; a daughter, Sue Wallace of Mossville; two stepdaughter, Velma Coons of Benton and Nyla Summers of South Elgin; a stepson, Kenneth Hall of Elgin; and 14 grandchildren.
