In her younger years, she worked at Sagner in McConnellsburg then she retired from H&P Clothing Store in McConnellsburg.
She was the widow of Melvin A. Buterbaugh, who passed away
July 29, 1995. They were married April 12, 1935. She was a charter member of Pentecostal Full Gospel Church, which is now Evangel Assembly of God in McConnellsb urg. She served as its first secretary and also taught Sunday School and
later on the ladies Bible class. She is survived by two sons: Samuel H. Buterbaugh, McConnellsburg, and Marvin L. Buterbaugh, Linville, Va.; a daughter, Pamela J. Thomas, Chambersburg; a brother, Samuel L. Mellott, Mercersburg; a sister, Lillian Cover, McConnellsburg; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles L. Buterbaugh. Funeral services were held at Howard L. Sipes Funer al Home Inc., McConnellsburg, at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 16. Pastor Belvy White, Pastor Keith Clugston and Rev. Carl Buterbaugh officiated. Burial was made in Union Cemetery.05/21/03,
