1-4-9 SUSANNAH AKELEY, fourth daughter and eighth child of Thomas and Abigail Wilder Akeley was born June 10, 1794, in Brattleboro, Vermont. She married Joseph WHITCOMB on Feb. 10, 1817. Susie died at age 23, on Oct. 29, 1817, when her first child was born. The baby (1-4-9-1) also died. Susie is buried in West Brattleboro Cemetery beside her mother.
