Mr. Rooney was the son of the late Harold Vincent Rooney and Hester Mae Bridges Rooney. He was a sergeant with the Macon Police Department, a deputy with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office and was a United States Navy veteran having been an E3-Seaman. Mr. Rooney was a member of the New Life Worship Center, the F.O.P. and the P.B.A.
Mr. Rooney is survived by his wife, Lynn Maddox Rooney of Byron; sons, Harold Vincent (Melinda) Rooney, II of Knoxville, GA, Jonathan Keith Rooney of Byron, and PFC Richard J. Rooney of Byron; grandchildren, Harold Vincent Rooney, III, Ashley Lynn Rooney, and Kayne Boaz Rooney; sister, Charlene Rooney Banks; nieces, Tammy (Chris) Ward, Debbie Leslie, Nikki Banks (Brian) McCullum; numerous other family members and friends.
