Alvin Willard Cracraft, 43, 365 W. 33rd South, died Sunday, 11:20 AM in a Salt Lake hospital of kidney ailment. Born Dec. 17, 1914, Salt Lake City, to Francis R. and Marie Jorgensen Cracraft. Laborer. Member Granite Park Ward,
Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. Survivors: mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sorensen, Salt Lake; two brothers: Don C., Holladay, and Elmo, Salt Lake City; stepbrothers, stepsisters: Henry Sorensen, Salt Lake City; Louis Sorensen, Santa Cruz, Calif.; Franklin Sorensen, Mrs. Leola Warren, Los Angeles; Paul Sorensen, Olympia, Washington; Mrs. Viola Canfield, Bremerton, Wash. Funeral noon, 260 E. South Temple, where friends may call Thursday 6-8 PM and Friday prior.

Alvin joined the Navy Oct. 18, 1940. He served on the ship Hammann from December 1940 until at least January of 1942. A week after he enlisted his brother, Arthur, also enlisted. They both served on the Hammann until September of 1941 when Arthur is no longer on the ship roster. Arthur will not survive the WWII.

FIVE BROTHERS ARE IN SERVICE

SALT LAKE CITY, July 17 (AP)
Elmo L. Cracraft, 20, is the latest of five brothers to enlist in the nations armed forces.

He signed up for service in the U.S. navy yesterday, two days after a brother, Arthur Cracraft, fire controlman, third class, was reported missing in action by the navy.

Elmo is a son of Mrs. Henry F. Sorenson. Another brother, Alvin, is an electrician's mate, third class, in the navy, and other brothers, Francis and Don, are in the army as private and sergeant, respectively.

Alvin married Ann Marie Torres after his discharge. They had one son, Allen Wayne, before they divorced.
