Warren Fry worked as a fireman for the Southern Railway. He was killed in a train accident in Iredell County west of Statesville, North Carolina. A washout caused the train to derail as it crossed Bostian Bridge over Third Creek; cars plunged sixty feet into the water. There were survivors, but at least thirty people died.
