Mrs. Alice R. Schafer, 65, widow of Henry D. Schafer, died at 3:05 yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Schafer, 218 Pine St. She had been in ill health for the past five years, but was only confined to bed for the past four weeks.

She was a native of Reading, a daughter of the late Theodore and Julia Miller. She came to Easton as a small child, with her parents, and she lived for practically all her life in the 700 block on Berwick St., South Side.

Mrs. Schafer was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, South Side; Camp 15, P. O. of A., Phillipsburg; Grant Herd No. 19, Lady Reindeer; Rosalind Circle, Companions of Foresters of America; Easton Temple No. 210, Ladies of the Golden Eagle and of the Degree of Pocohontas, of Easton.
