Andrew Hahn and wife Elizabeth came into Eastern Ohio, Columbiana County, Springfield Twp before 1817 because they were here before his daughter and son in law came, Ben and Eve Cover in that year. Andrew was a son of Ludwig and his 2nd wife Katrina Hahn/Hawn/Haun who were members of Pipe Creek 100 (AKA Pfeiff Creek Hundred) in Frederick County, Maryland. Andrew Sr. buried here but after he died wife Elizabeth Hahn and another son or two sold land and moved to Stark County, Ohio buying farms. The old Springfield UCC Reformed Church was near the road and the cemetery was behind it. Church was an old log building torn down many years ago. Some kin have said that Andrew's first wife was Magdalena Erbach (1748-1786) who died in Frederick County, Maryland but this has not been proved to my knowledge. Land records show Andrew owning farms both in Frederick/Carroll, MD counties and the same time in Columbiana County, Ohio near Petersburg. Double the responsibility. For our ancestors, follow the migration from Germany to Maryland to Ohio.
