Norman Rochefort,70, died Wednesday Nov. 28,at 9:25 p.m. in Marquette General Hospital.
He was born Aug. 30,1929, in Fayette and was a lifelong resident of the Garden Peninsula. He attended Fayette schools. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was an operating engineer and member of Engineers Local 324.
Survivors include: his wife the former Ella Prezsnar, of Garden; three daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Diane) Jyrkila of Oconto,Wis.. Mrs. Douglas (Candy) Robinson of Manistique, Mrs. Gerald (Debbie) Sitkoski of Fayette; three sons, Barry and Brian of Garden, Brent of Manistique; six sisters, Mrs. Leslie(Stella)Plante of Manistique, Mrs. Edward (Ellen) Mcquire of Cheboygan, Mich., Mrs. Lorna Cutler of Escanaba, Mrs. James (Ione) Collins of Fayette, Mrs.Norbert (Rose) Castine of Detroit, Sister Adriette Rochefort of St. Cloud, Minn.; four brothers, Eli of Grand Marais, Stanley of Alpena, Ivan of Cooks, and Richard of Winnebago, Minn.; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers Leon and Leslie and one sister, Evelyn Pardee.
Visitation will be at the Messier-Brouillire Funeral Home in Garden fron 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday with Rev Peter Petroske officiating. Burial will be in the New Garden Cemetery.
