Castle Rock High Classmate
On August 10th 1971 we lost our friend and classmate Bruce Johnson. He slipped into swift water in the Cowlitz River from a bank in the Cowlitz Shores real estate development. His companion Rob Casey fell in with Bruce and managed to recover himself. Rob was unsuccessful in finding Bruce. After several days of searching, by boats and scuba divers Bruce's body was recovered. The swiftness of the current downstream made the search efforts extremely difficult.
Bruce was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vic Johnson. He was also survived by three brothers.
