Emiterio "Ted" Abeyta, 78, was called back to his heavenly home the evening of Dec. 30, 2011. His unexpected passing was sudden. Ted served in the USMC which he considered some of the best years of his life "Semper Fi." He retired from the CF&I Wire Mill department with 44 years of service. He was born Sept. 19, 1933, in Trinchera, Colo. He enjoyed family, laughter, smiles and a good conversation; watching his children and grandchildren use their God-given talents. Predeceased by his parents, Abundia Trujillo and Manuel Abeyta; twin sons, Frank and Theodore Abeyta; siblings, Cecilio Abeyta, Filomenia Escarcida, Ida Gonzales, Nora Abeyta, Dora Sintas and Julian Abeyta; in-laws, Juan Gonzales, Augustina Gonzales, Angelina Evins, Robert Gonzales and Mary Evans. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Epifania "Eppie" Abeyta; children, Daniel (Dano) Abeyta, Charles "Chuck" (Virginia) Abeyta, Patricia "Enedine" (Coke) Abeyta, Ralph (Lynda) Abeyta, Myra (Joe) Diaz and Steven (Anita) Abeyta; seven siblings, Manuel "Jimbo" (Alice) Abeyta, Gilbert (Doris) Abeyta, Vivano DeLaO, Ray (Nancy) DeLaOcq, Joseph (Trudy) DeLaO, Luz Rodrigues and Emiteria "Mitty" (Ron) Solano; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Andrew Sintas; numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation 4 p.m. Wednesday, followed by rosary vigil, 7 p.m.; both at Angelus Chapel. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Thursday, Agape Fellowship Church. Interment with full military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team at Fort Lyon National Cemetery.
