Monday funeral services have
been set for Mrs. Maria (Mary)
Garris, 514 7th St. S.W. Mrs.
Garris, 77, died at the Oelwein
hospital early this morning
(Saturday).
Services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Feb. 28 at Sacred Heart church
wilh the Rev. Thomas Keating
officiating. Burial will be in
Woodlawn cemetery. The body
will be at the Brant Funeral
Home after 10 a.m. Sunday where
the rosary will be recited at 8
p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Garris is survived by her
husband, John; six sons, Pete,
Oelwein; John, Fort Wayne,
Ind.; George, Chicago; Joe,
Downers Grove, Ill. and Adam
and Jerome, Waterloo; three
daughters, Mrs. Irene Winkle,
Downers Grove, Ill. and Mrs.
Marie Hartman and Cecilia
Garris both of Oelwein. Four
sisters, Mrs. Christine Jacobs,
Mrs. Lena Hergenreder, Mrs. Liz
Schaefer and Mrs. Ann Landover
all of Chicago, also survive.
Mrs. Garris, who was born in
Germany, had lived in Oelwein
the past 51 years.
