Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for David N. Gertken, age 49, who died Tuesday at his home after a long battle with cancer.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday (TODAY) and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. S.E.).
Dave was born in Richmond, MN to Gerald and Theresa (Kascht) Gertken. Dave married Ruth Hall in Richmond on a beautiful day in September of 2001.
He worked for 28 years at the Cold Spring Granite Company. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, working on motorcycles and spending time ‘up nort' at the cabin.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; son, Jacob of Sartell; daughter, Karin of St. Cloud and granddaughter, Riley; stepson, Andrew of Ely; parents of Richmond; siblings, Mary (Ken) Becker, Mike (Gail), Brian (Diane) and Anne Brady; faithful companions, Miche and Minnie; many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
