Monday, July 9, 1979

Prock STONE, 79, R.R. 1, Argos, died at 9:05 p.m. Sunday in the Pilgrim Manor nursing home, Plymouth, following an illness of several months.

He was born Feb. 12, 1900 in Sublet, Ky., to Turner and Della SIZEMORE STONE and had lived in the Argos area for 43 years, moving from Stockridge, Mich. His first marriage was in 1921 to Ossie DODSON, who died in 1937. His second marriage was on June 1, 1938 to Grace SALYER, who survives. Mr. Stone was a farmer and a member of the Marshall County Farm Bureau Co-op and the Knox Pentecostal church.

Surviving with the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Joyce WEAVER, Gregory, Mich.; six sons, Herbert, Albert and Alvin [STONE], all of Jackson, Mich.; Landa [STONE], Bremen, and Larry and Robert STONE, both of Argos; twenty-five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Jane WATSON, Leslie, Mich., and a brother, George STONE, California.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Grossman funeral home, Argos, with the Rev. Lloyd HOWARD officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery, Argos. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
